Employee interviews using tactile methods

Employee reviews with apprentices are part of the daily routine for vocational trainers. But how do you create a foundation where even difficult topics can be addressed? At the national SV Service event, we explored with 80 vocational trainers from all over Switzerland how tactile methods make precisely this possible: in-depth conversations without anyone feeling interrogated.

Workshop philosophy

Initial situation

Conversations between vocational trainers and trainees are often challenging, especially when it comes to development, expectations, or difficult situations. Eighty vocational trainers from SV Service came together at their national conference with the aim of expanding their repertoire as leaders.

Implementation

In small groups, we explored together in a LEGO Serious Play workshop how tactile methods can help to deepen conversations, even when the topic is difficult. The participants experienced firsthand how building and showing models creates a shared language that words alone often cannot achieve. The goal was not technology for its own sake, but a new tool that enables genuine connection between vocational trainers and learners.

result

The participants left the workshop with a concrete methodological tool and a new perspective on how they can develop a sustainable foundation together with their learners, even in moments where direct conversation would otherwise be difficult.
